About Dr. Michael Strauss
Dr. Michael Strauss is a David Ross Boyd Professor of Physics at the University of Oklahoma, where he conducts research in high-energy particle physics using data from the ATLAS detector at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland. A graduate of Biola University and UCLA, he has previously conducted research at Stanford Linear Accelerator Center and Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory.
Dr. Strauss has spoken at universities, schools, and churches around the world, making complex topics accessible and applying both scientific and biblical insights to everyday life. He is the author of The Creator Revealed: A Physicist Examines the Big Bang and the Bible and co-editor of the Dictionary of Christianity and Science (Zondervan). He is also the co-recipient of the prestigious 2024 Texas A&M Trotter Prize, awarded for his work illuminating the connections between science and religion.

About Dr. Heather Severding
Dr. Heather Severding serves as Associate Director of Online Student Engagement at Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS), where she also teaches in the Departments of Educational Ministries and Leadership and Counseling Ministries. Before joining DTS, she served in public education and youth ministry, giving her a uniquely grounded perspective on leadership and spiritual development.
Dr. Severding holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from the University of North Texas, a Master of Arts in Christian Leadership, and a Doctor of Educational Ministry — both from Dallas Theological Seminary.
A Board Certified Coach with the Center for Credentialing and Education, she also holds the Certified Christian Leadership Coach (CCLC) certification through Coach Approach Ministries. In her coaching practice, she specializes in helping individuals discover their unique giftings, navigate life transitions, and grow in purposeful leadership. She is currently developing a Christian Coaching certificate pathway for students at DTS — equipping the next generation of ministry leaders with powerful coaching tools.
